First, let me say that I am a girl, and I am a student, and sometimes I like to write.

I don’t share my poetry among people who I know well, because, frankly, I don’t think it’s very good. In fact, it’s terribly bad, especially when I write in French. I actually play off of this– when I write in French, I know that I’m speaking very haltingly, and I like that effect, and use it when I’m expressing things I’m not sure how to say in English.

Peut-être vous parlez français– je suis vraiment desolee pour mes erreurs. J’étudie la poésie français, mais je n’ai pas la vocabulaire pour suivre les traditions. Je ne suis jamais poéte française…

but someday perhaps, with enough practice, I’ll be able to write well in English.

Most of these are about mon copain. Some of these are just about me. These are usually tagged être en soi, although the idea in posting these is more along the lines of être pour tu– knowing who I am for your (his) sake. Oh, and many of these are addressed to him directly. If I speak of Him or Il, that’s generally another male, probably my best male friend, and Her or Elle can be any one of my female friends, most commonly my college roommate.

If you want, you can email me. Please refrain from doing so, however, if you’re going to say (a) my poetry sucks or (b) my French sucks. I am perfectly cognisant of both facts.
